Best Beaches for Relaxation: Sunset Shores

Are you someone who enjoys basking in the golden rays of the sun while listening to the soothing sound of the waves crashing onto the shore? If so, you’ll be delighted to know that there are numerous stunning beaches around the world that are perfect for relaxation and catching breathtaking sunsets.

I’m not a beach guy by default. Give me a good pub with a proper pint and I’m content. But even I have to admit there’s something about watching the sun melt into the ocean with a cold beer in hand that makes the sand in your shoes worth it.

After years of reluctant beach trips, I’ve finally identified the best beaches for relaxation, the ones where even a skeptic like me can unwind.

Grace Bay, Turks and Caicos

This is the beach that ruined all other beaches for us. Powder-white sand that doesn’t stick to you, water so clear you can see your toes at waist-deep, and virtually no crowds if you time it right. The sunset here doesn’t mess around, it’s all oranges and pinks reflecting off that impossibly turquoise water. We grabbed a couple Red Stripes and just… existed. Sometimes that’s enough.

Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman

Yeah, it’s popular. Yeah, there are resorts. But there’s a reason everyone flocks here. The beach is long enough that you can find your own quiet spot, and the sunsets are reliably spectacular. Pro tip: Hit up one of the beachside bars right before golden hour, snag a craft beer from Cayman Brewing Co., and plant yourself in the sand. The missus claims it’s the most relaxed she’s ever seen me. High praise.

Pink Sands Beach, Harbour Island, Bahamas

The sand here is actually pink. Not “if you squint and believe hard enough” pink, legitimately rosy-hued sand that looks unreal at sunset. It’s quieter than the other two, which my better half appreciated after we’d been island-hopping for a week. The local Kalik beer pairs surprisingly well with the sound of gentle waves and the realization that you’ve got nowhere to be.

Beach relaxation isn’t just about the view, it’s about finding that perfect combination of comfortable sand, tolerable crowds, and nearby cold beer. These three nail all three. Even this pub-preferring traveler can appreciate that.
